Professional Development

Throughout my preservice learning and schooling, I have acquired many technology tools, resources, and skills that can be used in the classroom. I intend on continuing my education throughout my career to expand my "teacher tool box" and find what best suits the needs of both me, as an educator, and my students, as learners. On this page, you will find my Apple Teacher Certification, Google Educator Level 1 Certification, as well as many other resources I became fluent in during my time at Indiana University. Although I have experience with more classroom enhancers, this page serves the purpose of introducing you to a few of my skills.

Google Educator Certification Level 1

This certification proves my proficiency in Google tools. It shows that I am an educator who knows how to use various Google tools in the classroom. To get certified, I was required to complete the Fundamentals Training Course or get training from a Google for Education Certified Trainer or Partner. I, then, had to complete all of the unit reviews in the Fundamental's Training course, review the sample questions, and practice in classroom settings. Lastly, I scheduled and took the certification exam.

The Level 1 Google Educator status indicates that an educator is able to successfully implement G Suite for Education into their teaching practice in order to enhance teaching and learning.

Blogging For Educators Book Study

This artifact is an infographic summarizing my book study on Blogging for Educators: Writing for Professional Learning. I used Piktochart to create this graphic. The book study was an excellent form of professional development, and through this artifact, I described some of my findings that I feel may be beneficial in the classroom setting. I also included links to additional resources regarding the topic of educational blogging.

Twitter Chats

I have participated in multiple twitter chats as a way of professional development. I love having the opportunity to collaborate with educators around the world. I can share experiences with others that will be able to connect meaningfully while also learning from the experiences of others. Some of the most impactful Twitter chats that I have taken part incorporate technology and management. To the right, I have included a presentation that a colleague of mine and I worked on to share our thoughts on the OK2Ask Twitter chat. We presented this to our peers as a way to promote further learning and professional development.

Sample Grant Proposal

In this artifact, I demonstrate my ability to write a classroom grant proposal. I linked a donor's choose classroom grant that consists of the following pieces: who, what, and why a classroom need Bluetooth keyboards and how it will impact the students.

I then created a mock proposal applying for a $12,000 Technology in Education grant. I provided justification for what I planned on purchasing as well as how I planned on implementing and supporting the technology.
